Description

This is an almost exact replica of an original vintage Tram Scroll sign for the old Adelaide trams, the only change we made is the proportions as the original was a lot longer, we made three tram scrolls using the original tram sign you can see them on this site as Vintage Adelaide Tram Scroll 1 (this one), Vintage Adelaide Tram Scroll 2 and Vintage Adelaide Tram Scroll 3.

* The numbers on the left side are intentionally inverted as the driver would have been reading these, these would be visible to the driver on the inside of the tram. This particular type was in use between 1957 and 1962 – quite a short period. Route numbers were introduced in 1962, and these took the place of two of the rolls, so the remaining two rolls had to be redesigned to make sure all destinations were covered.
